A GENUINE ATTEMPT IS MADE IN THE SHORT FILM “DHAVAK” BY SRISHTI SHRIVASTAVA TO INSPIRE PEOPLE TO DREAM

STORY:

Sprinter Sudha Singh (Srishti Shrivastava), who placed third in the State Championship, wants to take home the gold at the Nationals. On the other side, although being pleased of her accomplishments, her parents want her to be married. When Sudha realises she won’t be able to evade this circumstance for long, she devises an original strategy for finding a partner who will be a good fit for her. Will her plan be effective?

REVIEW:

DHAVAK Director-producer Abhishek Sharma portrays the inspiring account of Sudha Singh, a gifted sprinter from Uttar Pradesh had aspirations to win a gold medal at the National Championship, in his film “Dhavak (means runner),” which he co-wrote with Rahul Mallick. She would like to pursue her aspirations, but social pressures keep her from doing so. When Sudha’s “Swayamwar” is held to determine her fate with the intention of “marrying whoever beats her in the race,” the plot takes an intriguing turn.

The drama is a sincere attempt to inspire people to dream in less than an hour while engrossing you in the path of the protagonist. Unlike previous sports dramas, “Dhavak” doesn’t just concentrate on the pivotal match. However, the compelling narrative and witty screenplay are what keep you watching from start to finish. It’s a straightforward tale that encourages women to surmount challenges both literally and figuratively. In fact, the events are presented in such a well-thought-out order that a longer running time would be beneficial. Particular attention should be paid to Pururava Rao’s lines because they are simultaneously relatable, funny, and wise.

The effectiveness of the drama is enhanced by Akshara Prabhakar and Harshit Mahant’s incisive editing. The climax finally comes to a satisfactory conclusion.

Srishti Shrivastava, who is best known for playing Mallika Dua’s love interest in the movie “Girliyapa,” has just nailed it in her previously unseen avatar by physically and psychologically capturing the essence of an athlete. Her character journey is incredibly well-written, and despite the challenges she must face to fulfil it, one can still relate to her ambition. Although Vaibhav Talwar’s portrayal of IPS officer Sudheer is strong, their on-screen chemistry is lacklustre.

In order to give the drama more reality, the entire movie was shot in Ishapur, a small village close to the Delhi–Haryana border. Sreechith Vijayan Damodar handled the cinematography. The songs “Kamar Kas Le” and “Dhavak Se Panga” by Gyanita Dwivedi seamlessly move from motivating to moving, however the soundtrack isn’t very strong.

The main message of this 42-minute movie is that dreams are possible if you put your heart and soul into them. Keep an eye out for this one’s honest efforts.
